About the founder

The Urban Temple Dance Repertory is founded and led by Dr. Sangeetha Rajan. She is a senior disciple of Guru Smt. Debi Basu and is an accomplished soloist in the Odissi style of dance. She has performed extensively in India and abroad under prestigious banners such as ICCR (Mumbai), NCPA, Sri Shanmukhananda Sabha, Sri Narada Gana Sabha, Indian Embassies in Tokyo, Beijing, Milan, Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, and many more. Sangeetha holds the title of Sringaar Mani for excellence in Odissi dance and is a member of the International Council for Dance (CID-UNESCO) since 2013.

In addition to her life in dance, Sangeetha is a qualified psychologist and people development professional. She holds a Masters in Psychology, an MBA in Personnel Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, a PhD in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and an LLB. She is co-founder of The Arts Quotient – a company that works with business leaders and their teams through the arts.

Dancers in the Repertory

The Urban Temple Dance Repertory comprises student artists who regularly perform on both community and professional platforms. They are talented dancers who are budding solo performers and prize-winners at local and All-India competitions. The repertory is knit together by a deep love for the dance and a collective pursuit of excellence and has been performing as a group since 2006.
